Pioneers of the affordable and intuitive mastering solution, IK Multimedia, have updated their monster software T-Racks to version 5.
Originally released in 1999, T-Racks was a standalone application but has evolved over the years with modules being added and each one being available in your favourite DAW as well.
The IK team have redesigned the standalone interface, as well as the individual modules and improved the workflow overall. This includes a resizable UI and extensive metering tools for music and media, as well as a workspace to order and sequence your album or project all in one window.
They have also added four new processors, bringing the total available to 38 to the plugin-hungry engineer. These include an emulation of a familiar looking vari-mu compressor, a 10-band fully parametric EQ, the Master Match module which analyses reference tracks for their spectral and level information and then matches your mixes to them and, finally, a module called One. This module is an all-in-one mastering processor which gives you control over elements of the process, such as the transients, stereo image, punch and harmonic enhancement altogether in one place.
The software is available in different size bundles depending on your requirements and additional modules can be added via their à la carte Custom Shop.
Making Music will have a review of this new release soon, so watch this space.
